In the rapidly evolving world of sports, performance data has become a currency for improvement, recruitment, and competitive edge.

But what would a more equitable world of sports analytics — where both amateur and elite athletes have access to high-level performance tracking — look like? That’s the question Athlitix set out to answer.

Co-founded by NYU Stern senior Sachin Dasari and computer vision expert Girish Kumar Adari, Athlitix is a sports analytics startup on a mission to democratize access to performance tracking and insights. What began as a conversation at a Techstars conference in Boston is now a rising venture with big wins, real-world traction, and a growing user base of athletes and coaches.

Winning Big at the NYU Entrepreneurs Challenge

Athlitix recently took home both the $75,000 Grand Prize and the Audience Choice Award in the Digital Tech Venture Competition at the 2024–2025 NYU Entrepreneurs Challenge — NYU’s largest and most rigorous startup pitch competition. The victory, which capped off a months-long program of mentorship and iteration, marked a key milestone in the company’s journey and earned the team critical funding and visibility.

Hosted by the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship at NYU Stern, the Challenge drew hundreds of guests and 11 finalist ventures from across NYU, competing for over $225,000 in seed funding. Athlitix stood out with its bold vision: making advanced sports analytics accessible to amateur and college-level athletes — especially those outside traditional pipelines — through intuitive tools that pair video with deep performance insights.

Merging Athletic and Technical Insight

Athlitix is fueled by a powerful founder pairing. CEO Sachin Dasari, a graduating senior studying Finance and Entrepreneurship at NYU Stern and a D3 volleyball athlete, brings firsthand understanding of the challenges athletes face when trying to improve, get recruited, or stand out. Dasari leads business strategy and is focused on creating products that solve real pain points for coaches and players alike.

On the technical side, CTO Girish Kumar Adari brings a deep background in computer vision and AI. An avid gamer, Adari also understands the data-driven nature of e-sports and the parallels with traditional sports — especially when it comes to performance feedback and talent discovery. His technical leadership powers the platform’s ability to analyze video footage and deliver insights in real time.

From Beta Launch to Figure Skating and Beyond

Athlitix released its beta version in late March 2024, targeting college-level athletes and coaches. The platform enables users to upload training or game footage, which is then analyzed to extract key performance metrics. The results: quicker adjustments, smarter training sessions, and more objective performance reviews.

Dasari and Adari then went on to complete the 2025 J-Term Startup Sprint, where they conducted crucial customer discovery interviews that they credit with helping them narrow Athlitix’s focus.

Now, Athlitix is gearing up for its next major chapter. The team is actively developing a mobile app focused on figure skating — a sport where objective analytics are particularly hard to come by. Following this, they’ll expand to swimming, with analytics tailored for the upcoming season.

The Road Ahead

Athlitix’s short-term goals are crystal clear: launch the figure skating app, continue building swimming analytics, and ensure each sport has a tool athletes truly rely on. But it’s the long-term vision that’s even more compelling.

The team aims to transform how athletes are recruited — making the process more objective and less dependent on geography, wealth, or personal connections. By offering affordable, accessible analytics, Athlitix hopes to level the playing field for aspiring athletes around the world. Eventually, they envision expanding across multiple sports, partnering with leagues and events, and even sponsoring global teams.

As the startup ecosystem increasingly intersects with sports and AI, Athlitix is proving that innovation doesn’t just happen in labs or boardrooms — it happens on the field, on the ice, in the pool, and anywhere athletes dream big.
