Is a Drama major at NYU Tisch’s Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, double majoring in Journalism with a minor in Social Work. As the founder of her own theatre company, The Beachcombers, she is passionate about both the artistic and business sides of theatre-making, with a focus on creating space for marginalized artists. Her work centers on symbolism, poetry, and absurdism, often exploring themes of immigration, female trauma, and queer relationships. She is especially interested in reimagining classical literature and mythology through bold, contemporary lenses.

Outside of her theatre company, Petunia writes for the arts section of NYU’s Washington Square News. After graduation, she hopes to continue interviewing artists, creatives and founders from around the world. As an aspiring social worker, she also volunteers with nonprofit domestic violence organizations such as Womankind and Sanctuary for Families in New York City.
