Michael Serotte brings his extensive experience as Founder and Senior Partner at Serotte Law, specializing in immigration solutions for entrepreneurs and startups. Serotte Law is the proud legal partner of Unshackled Ventures - a leading Venture Capital firm providing immigrant entrepreneurs with investment capital, community resources, and visa sponsorship. Michael's role as Immigration Counsel for various institutions and accelerators, coupled with his broad experience across multiple industries, provides him with a nuanced perspective on immigration matters for business founders. His guidance is particularly beneficial for international students at NYU looking to start or grow their ventures in the U.S.

Rita Georges is the Managing Partner at Serotte Law. With over 13 years of Immigration Law experience, Rita focuses on investment and employment-based immigration law as well as family-based and cross border inadmissibility issues. She partners with and assists companies navigate the complexities of U.S. immigration to successfully attract and retain foreign national talent through securing nonimmigrant work status for them and ultimately permanent residency status. Rita also represents investors seeking to secure non-immigrant investment visa to build and manage their business in the United States or investors seeking to utilize the EB-5 program to secure permanent residency status in the United States.
In addition, Rita works with Canadian and Mexican citizens seeking entry to the United States under the TN USMCA free trade agreement between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. She also helps individuals who face inadmissibility issues at the border as well as individuals and families seeking permanent residency through family-based sponsorship.
Born and raised in Beirut Lebanon, Rita graduated with her Juris Doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2011, earning a dual concentration in international law and finance. Her combination of educational, professional and life experiences allow her to bring strong legal and business understanding as well as first-hand, multi-cultural knowledge to help support her clients. Rita is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), American Bar Association (ABA), and the NY Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in New York.
