Office Hours with Alex Iskold, Techstars:
“When should I apply for an accelerator? How do I know if an accelerator is right for me? How much of my company should I be prepared to give away?” These were some of the questions asked by NYU Entrepreneurs at office hours with Alex Iskold (Courant ‘00), Managing Director of Techstars NYC.
Throughout the semester, NYC startup experts from accelerators, venture capital funds, law and accounting firms meet with NYU student and faculty entrepreneurs to provide expert coaching and personalized advice at the Leslie eLab. During Alex’s office hours on October 25th, he met with six NYU startups comprised of undergraduate, graduate, and faculty founders. Teams came prepared with questions regarding the next steps for their company’s and the role of angel investors in seed fundraising.
As a serial entrepreneur, startup investor, and NYU alumnus, Alex remarked upon the wide variety of startup ideas coming out of NYU. “NYU is producing lots of forward-looking companies right now. NYU founders are focusing on things that will matter in the future.” We couldn’t agree more and can’t wait to see the future problems that NYU students address through startups.
