More about the speaker:
Alex Zhou, founder & CEO of Yami, will share the inspiring story of how he built the largest Asian online marketplace in the United States. Guided by a passion for introducing Asian cuisine, culture, and lifestyle to households across America, Yami has become a premier destination for anyone looking to experience the richness of Asian offerings.
Alex Zhou is a Chinese-born entrepreneur based in California, US. He is the founder and CEO of Yami, a private company that has grown to become a leading online Asian marketplace with over two million customers and over 300,000 SKUs of Asian snacks, food, beauty and health products, home appliances, books, and more. Alex's entrepreneurial journey began when he noticed a gap in the market while attending college in the US, where he and other Asian students lacked easy access to Asian products. His vision to provide access to these products has resulted in Yami's remarkable success, which is backed by top venture capitals including GGV Capital, Altos Ventures, and JP Morgan. Alex leads a team of 500 employees across the US, China, and Japan, and continues to innovate and expand Yami's reach in the E-commerce industry.
