Understanding alternative funding mechanisms has become increasingly important for researchers. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs offer valuable opportunities for securing research support.

We invite Faculty, PhD candidates, Post-docs & Staff affiliated with NYU research, to a virtual workshop led by Jim Greenwood, founder of Greenwood Consulting Group, Inc., and a seasoned expert in the SBIR/STTR landscape, this session will provide insights into navigating these funding avenues. 

Workshop Agenda:

Overview of SBIR/STTR Programs: Understand the structure and objectives of these initiatives, which collectively allocate over $2 billion annually across various federal agencies. 

Application Guidance for NSF & NIH Phase I: Learn best practices for preparing competitive proposals to the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health.

Cost Proposal Fundamentals: Gain insights into developing accurate and compliant cost proposals to meet federal requirements.

Post-Workshop Consultations:

Participants will have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one consultations with Jim Greenwood for personalized guidance on funding applications. Details for scheduling these 30-minute sessions will be provided upon workshop registration.
