Bring your ideas to the Healthcare Makerthon; We’ll bring mentors, food, and $10,000 in total prizes!

Join the NYU entrepreneurial community on October 6 - 8, for the 3rd Annual NYU Healthcare Makerthon Weekend, where you’ll turn ideas for pressing healthcare innovation challenges into reality.

The weekend invites students, staff, researchers, and faculty from across NYU to collaborate, compete, and create impactful solutions to the five Makerthon challenges. This year’s healthcare innovation challenges represent huge opportunities facing the healthcare ecosystem today, including:

  • Geriatric patient wearables
  • Data visualization to improve ECG interpretation
  • Digital tools for clinical nursing care
  • Gamification of dietary decision making for kids, and
  • Telehealth tools for cardiac heart failure (CHF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD)

The five challenges were selected from amongst 150 submissions by frontline healthcare providers and students at NYU Langone Health, NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and others.

Hot from participating in the NYU Summer Launchpad Accelerator this past summer, two of the winners from last year’s Healthcare Makerthon, Anthony Oganov (CAS ’17) and Amar Seoparson (Tandon ’17) of Levitas Technologies, are serving as mentors for this year's teams. For Oganov, the Makerthon motivated them to pursue their startup beyond the long weekend.

Reflecting on his position this year, Oganov says, “My role in the Makerthon is primarily as a mediator. I hope to share the story of our startup to motivate the inception of new healthcare startups. I’m excited to see what this weekend will have in store for the participants, and I look forward to hearing everyone’s unique solution to the problem of their choosing.”

NYU Healthcare Makerthon Weekend, a one of a kind opportunity for YOU to compete for prizes, build cool solutions, network with experts, and make healthcare smarter.
