Healthcare Makerthon Pitch Night Winners

Thank you to everyone who joined the Healthcare Makerthon Pitch Night on Thursday, Oct 6th. Nearly 150 faculty, researchers, students and the healthcare practitioners from across NYU, including Langone Medical Center, School of Medicine, Tandon School of Engineering, and College of Arts & Science, came together for an engaging evening where they learned about the pressing healthcare challenges that need to be solved.

The top twenty challenges, selected by a committee of healthcare and startup experts from within NYU, pitched in front of the live audience and a panel of judges on Thursday at NYU Langone.

At the end of the Healthcare Makerthon Pitch Night, 10 challenges were chosen by the panel and audience voting, rated on impact and solvability, to move on to Phase II of the Makerthon, where cross-disciplinary teams will form to prototype solutions.

The pitch night concludes the Phase 1 of the initiative and kick starts the 'Solution Building' (Phase II) of the Healthcare Makerthon.

Over 2.5 days, you will experience the rush of coming together as a team to solve an important challenge, learn how to assess the needs of the customer and start testing the commercial viability of the venture concept.

The top four teams selected by a panel of healthcare startup experts will receive cash prizes totaling $10,000 and advance to Phase III, Venture Support.
