Virtual Early Stage Funding & Legal Workshop

Early Stage Funding helps startups get their operations off the ground and serve as a bridge to subsequent formal equity financing rounds. This presentation will discuss the essentials of SAFEs, convertible notes and other pre-seed financings and what you need to know in order to set your company up for success.

Jonathan Sagot

Jonathan represents clients in complex corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and financings. He advises tech-enabled emerging companies throughout their growth lifecycle, from their formation to series financings to exit. In his varied background, Jonathan has represented companies and acted as general outside counsel for clients in the software, digital health, life sciences, proptech, blockchain, advertising, communications, media, e-commerce, food and beverage, and fashion and beauty industries.

Kristen Nicol

Kristen focuses on a broad range of corporate matters for clients in the technology and life sciences industries, including startup formation and corporate governance, venture capital and debt financings, and complex mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Kristen was an associate at a nationally recognized law firm, where she counseled entrepreneurial clients at all stages of the business life cycle, from incorporation and expansion through exit.

During law school, Kristen served on the leadership board for the Social Enterprise and Startup Law group. She also served as a corporate counsel extern with an online, wholesale grocery retailer based in New York and New Jersey.
