There are currently over 5000 cryptocurrencies being traded and just this year, the market cap has hit 300 billion dollars of all digital assets. It's a multifaceted market powered by either a utility or a security or a governance token. The industry has evolved from being bitcoin leading the revolution to protocols being built to decentralize finance. During this session, Ayesha Kiani will address how it all started, the ICO boom and the current defi craze and where does the tech truly stand in all of this.
About the speaker: Ayesha Kiani is the VP of Business Development at LedgerPrime - a quant hedge fund focusing on digital assets. She is also an Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering where she's teaching a course on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology. Previously, Ayesha was a Managing Director for Republic Crypto, where she successfully led Republic’s fundraising efforts for its Security Token presale. Before Republic, Ayesha was an early employee of Consensys, within SingularDTV. She is currently an Investor Board Member at Ventures for America and a Venture Partner at NextGen Ventures.
